About me
I am an architect and researcher currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Born in Canada, I recently worked and studied for eight years in the UK, where I am a registered Architect.
This website is focused on my writing. I began at the Architects Journal in London, and have now written more than 200 articles for international architectural publications including inteviews with Will Alsop, Hussein Chalayan, Bjarke Ingles, Jan Utzon, and Moritz Waldemeyer, and critiques of building projects such as the Oslo Opera House, Hotel Puerta America and the Copenhagen Elephant House. I love writing about Scandinavian design and also write yearly about the Smartgeometry workshops.
I lecture internationally and sit on the jury of various design award panels and competitions. Currently, I hold a PhD Fellowship at Aarhus School of Architecture with the theme of sustainable building transformation. I am the editor of Experimental Green Strategies - Redefining Ecological Design Research (John Wiley and Sons, London, 2011) and co-editor with Brady Peters of Inside Smartgeometry (John Wiley and Sons, London, March 2013).
